- In the 13th century, Leonardo Pisano – Fibonacci -- changed the fabric of European mathematics and art:
- If you take the numbers 0 and 1, then create each subsequent number in the sequence by adding the previous two numbers, you get the Fibonacci sequence. Example: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, etc.
- The Golden Mean, closely related to the Fibonacci sequence, appears repeatedly in our natural environment, particularly in things that expand and unfurl in stages.
